What’s up guys?! You know, the first thing I think of when I think of Vietnam is…a scooter! I’m not kidding there are scooters EVERYWHERE. An entire family will ride on one scooter – no joke! Seriously though, when Ace Young, Christopher Massey, Kyle Massey and I visited Vietnam, we had an amazing time. The people are so sweet. We visited both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). In Ho Chi Minh City, we worked with the volunteers from the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Our goal was to fit hundreds of kids with hearing aids! I got to be there when a little girl heard her mother’s voice for the very first time…it was so awesome. We also visited the Friendship Village located outside Hanoi, and we spent some good times with the kids there. All of them have been physically disabled in some way by the chemical Agent Orange. It was used during the Vietnam War, and it still hurts the Vietnamese today. I was so impressed with the kids though – they were so strong, and so fun to be around, even though they had so little. Basically, I’d go back to Vietnam and hang out with them anytime! We did get a chance to do some fun, cheap shopping and check out a water puppet show too. I really hope you enjoy our volunteer mission to Vietnam. See ya soon!
